This is my entry for the fanart book of the Princess and the Frog from

I hope I`m not too late to enter because the release of the movie is THIS MONTH, instead of later, as I thought. I discovered the actual release date this Sunday and have worked like crazy this week to get it finished.

This film is the first one made by hand drawn animation again after `Home on the Range` which is FIVE long years ago. I can not express how overjoyed I am to be able to look forward to a 2D animated film again. It means much more to me than the 3D films. Though those stories were awesome and had lovely characters, for me they miss the magic of the moving
drawings which I have come to love so much. I hope they`ll make more 2D films from now on and see it as another extra technique instead of something to replace.
I hope David can get this book to the creaters of the movie, that`d be an awesome way to show our joy and appreciation for the movie.

In celebration of the medium of the film we had to use traditional techniques for our entry. I used:
- brown drawing ink for the lines
- watercolour and markers (copic, lyra and letraset) for the colouring
- white gel pens and acrylics for the highlights and the fireflies
I used a photo camera for uploading it, it messed up the colours a bit.
I absolutely love Tiana`s design and the dress you see here is taken from the movie, I think it`s one of the most beautiful dresses I`ve ever seen for a Disney princess. I love the swamp theme in it and the colours fit her wonderfully!
In this drawing you`ll recognize a scene from another Disney princess movie, the one that for me started it all.

I`m not satisfied about the fireflies at all, it`s all a bit rushed because of time pressure but I hope you`ll like it none the less.

Thanks for looking! Here`s my other PatF fanart:
