Finally it`s finished! I`ve been wanting this page to be finished for so long now! I think it`s far better than all the originals I ever did (believe me, I made many concept for this one) Never could find the right format or had the skills to introduce the setting right, with the right colours and atmosphere and all. I think this is the best I can do at the moment, I`m really pleased with the result.
Comments are very welcome. Since this is the first page I`d like to hear your reactions on how the page appears to you and what you think when you see it. Thanks!
Tools, as always: pencil, ink, photoshop cs2.
EDIT: MY FIRST DD!!!! Thank you so much for featuring this page Cederseed!!! I still can`t believe it, I`m in shock! And I`m really honoured.
Thanks to everyone, so much, for the lovely comments and faves!
Wow, there are so many things i could say about this piece! So, first of all, i love the way the pannels flow so beautifully from one to the other which enables the damselfly/dragonfly to fly from one panel to the other as if it really is soaring about! The first panel is so detailed and stunning itself that it could be submitted as a deviation on its own. The colours are rich yet dark, showing that the rainforest isn't all bright colours. And the insect. I'm not sure if you meant it like this, but to me it looks like a new animal of some sorts. If this isn't what you meant then sorry! The anatomy isn't right for either a damselfly or a dragonfly. If it's supposed to be one of those, then i suggest you check out a few pictures of them. But all in all an amazing deviation!
aww, thank you! But your photo`s are beautiful, don`t say it doesn`t take talent to spot the right scenes and all the work with colour and compositions you do!
i still doubt that and its my opinion that to create something from nothing is true art, and that includes even photo manip, because you start with a blank new document and build. but thank you for the encouragement
